Gina Sanderson creates mixed media artworks and sculptures. Everyday discarded objects are altered or detached from their perceived function and repurposed into a new context. Finding beauty in the weathered, the antique, the broken or mundane rubbish of everyday life Sanderson transforms and elevates these objects through art. Each piece creates a new narrative of its own, echoing histories and emotions that resonate with a new purpose and meaning. Her art ranges from outdoor sculptures to smaller mixed media and assemblage artworks. Sanderson works from her hand made mud brick studio on a farm in Chittering, Western Australia. Her 1.6km driveway is a gallery of repurposed sculptures inviting visitors to participate in her creative journey as they travel up to the studio.
